The J/70 Speedster (6.98 meters) is J/Boats' first keel boat launchable from a ramp, designed to meet the need for a high-performance one-design that is easy to maintain, exciting to sail, stable enough for the whole family, and easy to trailer, rig, launch, and sail. The J/70's 3.35 m (11 ft) long cockpit and moderately high boom make it easy for the crew to move during tacks and gybes. For added comfort while sitting and moving around, padded mid-height coamings with handrails run the full length of the cockpit. Wide cockpit-mounted footrests provide secure footing, and the seat height and ergonomic design make the J/70 one of the most comfortable small keelboats to helm. Hiking straps are not required to stay in the boat. In addition, strict class sailing rules help reduce physical effort, making the boat easier and more enjoyable to sail.

J/70 Class International Association
The J/70 Class Association is a dynamic, owner-formed and professionally managed organization that oversees an active regatta calendar at regional, continental, and world level. Recognized by World Sailing as an international class, the J/70 Class holds annual European, North American, South American, and World Championships, with special recognition for its champions in the Open, Corinthian, Women's, and Youth categories.
The J/70 one-design class rules require a 2.5 HP outboard motor (gasoline or electric), along with an anchor and additional safety equipment. This allows sailors to operate independently without worrying about rowing back to shore. Race committees can start races on time and finish later the same day without needing to tow the boats.
J/70 Sailing Leagues – Europe
The revolutionary "sailing league" concept was first introduced in Germany by Oliver Schwall in 2013. Since then, it has spread across Europe, with more than 15 countries now hosting active sailing leagues.
